Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy is fueled by our commitment to these Privacy Principles:

We’re deeply committed to creating a safe and secure online environment for you. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We established Achievers as a nonprofit organization so that our mission of education and your trust will not be in conflict with a for-profit motive. We strive to provide you with access to and control over the information you give us, and we take the protection of your information very seriously. We take extra precautions for our younger learners as described in our Children’s Privacy Notice, including restricting child accounts to automatically block features that would allow a child to post or disclose personal information. We do not display third party advertising on Achievers. Our mission is to provide you with a world class education, not to sell you products.

Overview

Achievers, Inc. (“Achievers”, “our”, “us”, or “we”) is a Indian-based charitable nonprofit organization. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we use the information we collect to provide you with a better experience and fulfil our mission of providing a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. We established ourselves as a nonprofit organization so that a for-profit motive will not interfere with our mission of providing a trusted educational resource.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. We understand how important privacy is to you, and we are committed to protecting your privacy and to creating a safer environment for learners of all ages. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, disclosed, and protected by Achievers when you use (or access) our website at www.khanacademy.org, our mobile application, and online service (collectively, our “Service”). Our Achievers Kids mobile application is governed by a different Achievers Kids privacy policy.

We collect information from you directly, such as when you create an account, communicate with us, participate in activities, events or surveys, or otherwise provide information during your use of the Service.
We may collect information from others, such as your parent, teacher, or School, or third parties (meaning organizations outside of Achievers), such as third parties applications that you use to connect to the Service.
We collect some information automatically, such as information about your use of the Service and the devices you use to access the Service. We may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect information as explained in our Cookie Notice.

Information you provide to us

Contact and profile information. When you create an account on the Achievers Service we may collect information including your name, email address, and birthdate or age data (for compliance purposes). We also collect sign-in information including username and password. After you register, you may also choose to provide additional information in your profile, such as your nickname, and other personal or demographic information.
Your communications with us. We may collect information from you at other times, such as when you request customer support, send us an email, post a comment or question, provide feedback, complete a user survey, participate in a special program, or otherwise communicate with Achievers (including via third party services).
Your interactions with our Services. We may collect information from you when you interact with features of the Services, such as our Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered chatbot, Avia.

Information that we may receive about you from others

Information obtained from a school, or from other users. We make available certain features on our Service that allow other users to provide us information about you. For example, a school or teacher may provide information relating to participants in a class, or a parent may provide information relating to a Child User, such as when a parent registers an account for their Child and provide us with certain information about the Child (such as user name and age). Please review our Children’s Privacy Notice and Schools and Student Use for additional information about use of our Service by Children and students.
Information from Single Sign On (SSO) authentication services. If you decide to register for an account (or access your account) through an authentication service (such as Google Accounts or Clever as a Single Sign On, also known as a SSO) (“Authentication Service”), we may collect information from these third parties services, consistent with your privacy settings in your account with the relevant Authentication Service.
Information we collect to enable your participation in special programs or features. Achievers may feature a special program or activity we offer in partnership with a third party. If you participate in these special programs, Achievers may collect information from you to facilitate those programs.
Information provided by partners and other sources. We may also receive information from third party organizations with which we partner to provide educational services. If we associate information from other sources with personal information that we collect through our Service, we will treat the combined information as personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Information we collect automatically

Information about your use of our Service. We may collect usage information about your use of our Service, such as the number of problems you have attempted, the number of videos you have viewed, the types of exercises you engaged in, subjects studied, the amount of time spent to complete a problem and data relating to Avia conversations and activities. This enables us to better tailor educational experiences that are most appropriate for you.
Location information. We may collect and use information about your location (such as your country) or infer your approximate location based on your IP address in order to provide you with tailored educational experiences for your region, but we don’t collect precise geolocation data. You may be able to change the settings on your computer or mobile device to prevent it from providing us with any location information.
Usage and device information. To provide a personalized learning and high-quality experience for our users, we may use various technologies that automatically record certain technical information from your browser or device when you visit our website, read our emails, use our Service or otherwise engage with us (e.g., the model of the laptop or mobile device and operating system version you use). You can learn more about our use of these technologies (and how to manage their use) in our Cookie Notice.
